10 on 10 (#6) | A Day in the Life of Rox

.

I'm not sure there are words to describe how much I enjoy participating in 10 on 10!  I'm capturing days, my family, and things that matter to me.  It makes me more aware of my surroundings if only for a day, which forces me to reflect....and that proves to be good.

The day I documented for this month's 10 on 10 (+1 again) was Memorial Day.  We spent time at the Ledges State Park.  It's beautiful - and finally fully open after the cleanup from the flooding a couple of years ago.  The Ledges mean a lot to us as we grew up in the area, and Sandy, Levi's Mom, had a love for the park.  Her memory is there.  Unfortunately, we haven't visited enough even though I have had some sessions there in the past couple of years.  It was a perfect day to visit...and the kids loved it, too.

The road that meanders through the park is covered with water at various points.  This is what rolls off the side of the road.

It was such a warm day; the girls found walks in the water to be refreshing.

Ayden enjoyed the water, too.

On our way up to Crows Nest, we stopped at a landing.  I am finding that my lungs don't yet allow me to make the whole trek without breaks, but lucky for the kids, Levi can keep up.

We found this bug laying on it's back, not sure if it was alive.  It was.  It's an eyed click beetle, and one of the coolest bugs we've seen.

Another pit-stop and one of my favorite shots of my three kiddos together.

More bugs.  Creepy, but cool!

A face in the wall.

The lush greenery and limestone - so pretty!

Moss, beautiful moss.  (+1)

Here is one more picture (not part of 10 on 10).  Levi took this for me on Mother's Day - one of my few times in front of the camera.  I just wanted to share because I'm usually the one behind the camera.  :)

I hope you will take time to check out the next 10 on 10 post in our group by:  Ginger Haddock | Fernbird Photography | Casper Wyoming Photographer.

oh my gosh Roxanne! What an amazing location and amazing photos to match! Is it odd that I love the photo of the worm/bug thing? :) You have a beautiful family!

Demean, it's not odd at all. I love the photo of the beetle, too. I'm normally not excited about insects, but it was unique!

I know, Heidi! I loved yours in the greens. The ones we saw were either on the road or sand. Thought they might be under cover a bit more. Either way, they are creepy cool. :)

Love the photos, especially the bug ones! Very cool! I'd blow up the snail one for a boy's bedroom. :) Another perfect day. I love those days with the kids. And thanks for sharing your photo. It's always fun to see who's behind the camera!
